Botutrax is a vaccine designed for the active immunization of healthy cattle, sheep, and goats against botulism and anthrax. Immunity is established within 3 to 4 weeks after inoculation and lasts for approximately one year.

Principais características:

• Ingredientes ativos:

  • Clostridium botulinum types C and D toxoids: Inactivated to provide immunity against botulism.

  • Bacillus anthracis spores (Sterne 34F2 strain): Live spores of an avirulent strain to confer protection against anthrax.

• Indicações: For the active immunization of healthy cattle, sheep, and goats against botulism and anthrax.

• Dosagem e Administração:

  • Gado: Administer 2 ml subcutaneously.

  • Ovelhas e cabras: Administer 1 ml subcutaneously.

  • A second dose should be administered 4 to 6 weeks after the first, especially in animals not previously immunized.

• Instruções de armazenamento:

  • Store between 2°C and 8°C (refrigerated).

• Warnings:

  • Período de retirada: Do not slaughter animals for human consumption within 21 days of vaccination.

  • Avoid vaccinating stressed animals.

  • Possible reactions include transient swelling at the injection site and a moderate rise in temperature for one or two days.

  • Vaccination is not a substitute for supplementary feeding of phosphorus when grazing is deficient.

  • As with all vaccines, occasional hypersensitivity reactions may occur; appropriate treatment should be administered promptly.

  • Concurrent administration of antibiotics is contraindicated as they may interfere with the vaccine’s efficacy. Antibiotics should not be given for several days before and at least 15 days after vaccination.
