Botutrax is a vaccine designed for the active immunization of healthy cattle, sheep, and goats against botulism and anthrax. Immunity is established within 3 to 4 weeks after inoculation and lasts for approximately one year.

Bacillus anthracis spores (Sterne 34F2 strain): Live spores of an avirulent strain to confer protection against anthrax.

Dosagem e Administração:

Gado: Administer 2 ml subcutaneously.

Ovelhas e cabras: Administer 1 ml subcutaneously.

A second dose should be administered 4 to 6 weeks after the first, especially in animals not previously immunized.

Warnings:

Período de retirada: Do not slaughter animals for human consumption within 21 days of vaccination.

Avoid vaccinating stressed animals.

Possible reactions include transient swelling at the injection site and a moderate rise in temperature for one or two days.

Vaccination is not a substitute for supplementary feeding of phosphorus when grazing is deficient.

As with all vaccines, occasional hypersensitivity reactions may occur; appropriate treatment should be administered promptly.

Concurrent administration of antibiotics is contraindicated as they may interfere with the vaccine’s efficacy. Antibiotics should not be given for several days before and at least 15 days after vaccination.
