The Large White pig, also known as the Yorkshire pig in some regions, is one of the most widespread and influential pig breeds globally. Originally developed in England, it is renowned for its rapid growth, exceptional reproductive traits, and high-quality carcass. Large Whites are extensively used in both purebred and crossbreeding programs, forming the backbone of modern commercial pork production.


Origin

The Large White breed was developed in Yorkshire, England in the 19th century through selective breeding of local white pigs. Size and Build
Large Whites are robust, muscular pigs with long, deep bodies. They are bred for both meat yield and breeding efficiency.
