Description

Fransulfa 250ml is a sterile injectable antibiotic solution containing a combination of Sulfadimidine Sodium and Trimethoprim. It is used for the effective treatment of bacterial infections and protozoal diseases in livestock including cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs.

This synergistic combination works by inhibiting the production of folic acid at two different steps in bacterial metabolism, leading to a rapid and strong bactericidal effect. Fransulfa is particularly useful in respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, and septic conditions.

Indications:

• Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis)

• Gastrointestinal infections (e.g., diarrhea, enteritis)

• Septicemia (blood infections)

• Navel ill and joint ill in young animals

• Urinary tract infections

• Early-stage coccidiosis

Target Animals:

• Cattle

• Sheep

• Goats

• Pigs

Dosage & Administration:

• 1 ml per 10 kg body weight once daily by intramuscular (IM) or slow intravenous (IV) injection.

• Treatment should continue for 3–5 days depending on severity.

Withdrawal Periods:

• Meat: 12–14 days

• Milk: 4–5 days

Precautions:

• Shake well before use.

• Do not administer to animals with impaired liver or kidney function.

• Ensure free access to drinking water during treatment.

• Store below 25°C, protect from direct sunlight, and keep out of reach of children.
