Tetranor is a broad-spectrum antibiotic containing oxytetracycline as its active ingredient. It’s effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as certain protozoa, making it suitable for treating various infections in livestock and poultry.

Active Ingredient:

  • Oxytetracycline: A tetracycline antibiotic known for its bacteriostatic properties.

Indications:

  • Livestock:

    • Cattle and Sheep: Treatment of infections caused by Streptococci, Staphylococci, Pasteurella spp., Brucella spp., Corynebacteria spp., Erysipelothrix, Coliforms, Salmonella, Rickettsiae, Mycoplasmas, Chlamydia, and some protozoa.

    • Note: Activity against Pseudomonas, Proteus, and Klebsiella spp. is low.

  • Poultry:

    • Chicks: Prevention of early chick mortality caused by E. coli and stress due to extreme climatic conditions.

    • Chickens: Treatment of cholera, aseptic enteritis (blue-comb disease), salmonellosis (fowl typhoid and pullorosis), staphylococcosis, and other bacterial infections secondary to viral diseases.
