Nestled in the fertile lands of Suhum in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Semanhyia Learning and Development Farm stands as a beacon of transformation, resilience, and opportunity. What was once a vision is now a state-of-the-art livestock and training facility that has welcomed thousands of visitors—from young entrepreneurs and students to government officials and farmer cooperatives. At its heart, Semanhyia Farm is more than just a farm—it’s a movement for sustainable growth, youth empowerment, and agribusiness innovation.

Our Inception: A Story of Resilience

The journey to Semanhyia Farm’s current success was not without its hurdles. After a turbulent past marked by setbacks and uncertainty, the farm was re-established in Suhum with a renewed mission: to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s agricultural landscape while empowering a new generation of agripreneurs across Africa. Our revival was driven by a belief that agriculture, when done right, can solve real social challenges—unemployment, food insecurity, and rural stagnation.

Empowering Through Training

Since its re-establishment, Semanhyia L&D Farm has trained over 3,000 individuals through hands-on workshops and bootcamps, community engagements, and specialized programs. These trainings are not just theoretical; they are practical, tailored, and action-oriented. Whether it’s learning how to rear healthy livestock, understanding sustainable feed practices, or exploring agribusiness models, participants leave with skills they can immediately apply.

Our participants come from all walks of life:

  • Aspiring youth entrepreneurs seeking a pathway into agriculture.

  • Cooperative unions looking to scale up sustainable livestock practices.

  • Government agencies exploring public-private collaboration in agribusiness.

  • Farmers eager to modernize their operations and increase productivity.

A Hub for Dialogue and Innovation

Every tour and training session at Semanhyia Farm sparks meaningful dialogue. The farm has become a trusted gathering place for discussing big-picture ideas—job creation through agribusiness, youth-led development, and sustainable livestock practices that align with climate realities. Through our partnerships and open-door approach, we continue to influence agricultural policies and community-driven solutions.

Our Impact, Our Pride

  • Over 2,000 people trained in sustainable livestock and agribusiness.

  • Growing networks of alumni now leading their own agribusinesses.

  • Strong collaborations with private sector and government stakeholders.

  • A growing reputation as a center of excellence in agricultural training.

Looking Ahead

At Semanhyia Farm, we’re not just raising livestock—we’re cultivating hope, empowering entrepreneurs, and nurturing future leaders. As we expand our reach and capacity, our commitment remains unwavering: to be a lighthouse in the agricultural space—shining brightly for those ready to work the land and shape the future.
