Description
Nuflor Injectable Solution is a veterinary antibiotic formulated with florfenicol, a synthetic antimicrobial agent effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria. Manufactured by Merck Animal Health, Nuflor is primarily used in cattle to treat and control specific bacterial infections.
Treatment of Bovine Interdigital Phlegmon (Foot Rot): Associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus.
Control of Respiratory Disease in High-Risk Cattle: For cattle at high risk of developing BRD.
Dosage and Administration
Nuflor can be administered via:
Intramuscular (IM) Injection: 20 mg/kg body weight (3 mL/100 lbs), with a second dose 48 hours later.
Subcutaneous (SC) Injection: 40 mg/kg body weight (6 mL/100 lbs) as a single dose.
Note: Do not administer more than 10 mL per injection site.
Pharmacology
Florfenicol, the active ingredient in Nuflor, is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria isolated from domestic animals. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death.

⚠️ Precautions and Contraindications
Not for Use in:
Female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older.
Calves to be processed for veal.
Animals intended for breeding purposes.
Withdrawal Periods:
28 days after the last IM treatment.
38 days after the last SC treatment.
Adverse Reactions:
Inappetence, decreased water consumption, or diarrhea may occur transiently following treatment.
Safety Information:
Avoid direct contact with skin, eyes, and clothing.
In case of accidental exposure, flush with water and consult a physician if irritation persists.

📦 Packaging and Storage
Nuflor is available in sterile glass vials of 100 mL, 250 mL, and 500 mL sizes. Store between 2°C and 30°C (36°F and 86°F), protecting from light. Refrigeration is not required. Use within 30 days of first puncture.
