The Duroc pig is a highly prized meat breed known for its deep red color, excellent feed efficiency, fast growth rate, and superior meat quality with intramuscular marbling. Origin
The Duroc breed was developed in the United States during the 1800s from a blend of red pigs from New York and New Jersey. Through generations of selective breeding, Durocs became renowned for their muscularity, growth speed, and adaptability to various farming systems.

Durocs are large, deep-bodied pigs with thick shoulders, wide frames, and well-developed hams. Their physical conformation supports high meat yield.

Coat and Color
