Role Overview – Supply Chain Manager
Farming in Africa is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Supply Chain Manager. The person will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company’s entire supply chain, including inventory management, retail shop operations, delivery and logistics. This role plays a strategic part in ensuring that products—from seeds and livestock feed to equipment and additives—are well-stocked, accurately tracked, and delivered efficiently to customers through both digital and physical channels. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership with operational precision to drive excellence across the supply chain.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
1. Inventory Management
- Monitor, track, and control inventory levels across warehouses and retail shops.
- Develop and implement stock control systems to ensure real-time accuracy and avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Work with procurement and sales to align stock availability with demand forecasts and sales campaigns.
2. Retail Shop Oversight
- Oversee daily operations across all retail locations (e.g., Accra, Kumasi, Tamale).
- Ensure proper merchandising, customer service standards, and stock presentation in all shops.
- Standardize operating procedures and performance targets for retail staff.
3. Logistics & Delivery Operations
- Manage outbound and inbound logistics for deliveries to customers, retail shops, and bulk buyers.
- Coordinate route planning and van usage for timely and cost-effective distribution.
- Ensure seamless integration between online orders and physical fulfillment.
4. Data and System Management
- Work closely with the IT/website team to maintain inventory visibility across the website and retail.
- Generate monthly supply chain reports to track efficiency, stock movement, and shop performance.
- Utilize data to reduce waste, cut costs, and optimize delivery flow.
5. Vendor and Partner Coordination
- Liaise with suppliers and external logistics providers to ensure supply chain efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with wholesale and retail partners to improve availability and distribution.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
- A postgraduate diploma or certification in Logistics or Inventory Management is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or retail operations.
- Experience in agriculture, retail, or fast-moving goods (FMCG) is highly preferred.
Key Skills
