Overview
As an entry level Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the design and development of architectural projects. As a Livestock Farm Architect you will play a pivotal role in the design and construction of our livestock farm. You will be responsible for assessing potential farmlands, developing comprehensive pen designs in 2D and 3D, and providing detailed documentation with cost estimates. Additionally, you will collaborate with artisans to oversee the construction process and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Site Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of potential farmlands, considering factors such as soil quality, water availability, climate, and zoning regulations.
- Pen Design: Develop innovative and functional pen designs that meet the specific needs of our livestock, taking into account factors such as animal welfare, biosecurity, and efficiency.
- 3D Modeling: Create detailed 3D models of pen designs to visualize the proposed structures and identify potential challenges or improvements.
- Documentation and Estimates: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including blueprints, specifications, and cost estimates, for each farm project.
- Collaboration with Artisans: Work closely with artisans and contractors to ensure that the construction process adheres to the design specifications and timeline.
- Project Management: Oversee the construction process, monitor progress, and address any issues that may arise.
- Budget Management: Manage the project budget to ensure that costs are aligned with estimates and that resources are utilized efficiently.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed projects to ensure that they meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field
- Proven experience in architectural design and project management
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for sustainable agriculture and animal welfare
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing livestock facilities
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices
- Familiarity with local building materials and construction techniques
Additional Notes
- This position may require occasional travel to visit farm sites.
