Role Overview
The Content Marketing Manager will lead the content creation, optimization, and distribution efforts across Farming in Africa’s platforms, ensuring cohesive storytelling and measurable results. You will mentor and collaborate with the Communications, Production, and Customer Experience Team to deliver impactful content and ensure a consistent brand voice. Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Collaboration
- Oversee and coordinate the efforts of the Communications, Production, and Customer Experience Team to achieve content goals and maintain a unified brand identity.
- Provide guidance on content priorities based on trends, performance, and organizational objectives.
- Set deadlines and monitor team deliverables to ensure timely execution of tasks.
2. Content Strategy and Planning
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy that aligns with business goals, target audience needs, and market trends.
- Lead content planning sessions to identify themes and opportunities for growth across digital platforms, particularly social media, and the company website.
3. Content Optimization and Performance Analysis
- Monitor and evaluate content performance metrics (e.g., YouTube Analytics, social media engagement, and website traffic) to refine strategies.
- Collaborate with the Executive Producer to assess audience retention rates, click-through rates, and video optimization.
- Review content data to identify high-performing materials and recommend ways to replicate or enhance their success.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with the Communications Team to cultivate relationships with stakeholders in the agriculture value chain and develop impactful advocacy stories.
- Work with the Customer Experience Team to align customer feedback and inquiries with content strategies to improve user engagement and satisfaction.
5. Hands-On Content Execution
- Supervise and support:
- Communications Team in developing scripts, consistent brand messaging, and PR initiatives.
- Producer in selecting content ideas, optimizing video titles and thumbnails, and delivering timely uploads.
- Customer Experience Team in responding to audience inquiries on social media and ensuring prompt customer support.
- Define strategic video directions, oversee scripting and editing, and approve multimedia content before publication.
- Optimize YouTube uploads, including metadata, tags, descriptions, and thumbnails, to maximize visibility and engagement.
6. Reporting and Recommendations
- Generate comprehensive reports from platforms like YouTube Analytics, summarizing audience trends, retention rates, and click-through rates.
- Propose actionable recommendations for improving content effectiveness and overall audience engagement.
7. Team Development
- Mentor team members, fostering collaboration and encouraging innovative approaches to content creation and distribution.
- Coordinate training or workshops to keep the team updated on digital trends and tools.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven track record of 5+ years in content marketing, team leadership, or digital media, with a focus on YouTube and social media platforms.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering measurable results.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in YouTube optimization tools (e.g., TubeBuddy, vidIQ) and social media analytics.
- Strong knowledge of SEO principles, audience retention strategies, and digital storytelling techniques.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) tools and content management systems (CMS).
