Role Overview – Business Development Officer
The Business Development Officer (BDO) plays a key role in FiaKare’s growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities within the livestock farming sector across Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the livestock farming sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, including farmers, investors, and agricultural businesses.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends and identify target markets.
- Develop and deliver compelling proposals and pitch desks showcasing FiaKare’s solutions and their benefits.
- Negotiate and close business deals, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Manage and nurture existing client relationships, fostering long-term collaborations.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities and performance metrics.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in livestock farming.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned to you.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in business development or a related sales role.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving business objectives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A passion for the agriculture industry and a desire to make a positive impact.
