Role Overview – Business Development Coordinator
The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) plays a key role in FIAKare’s growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities within the livestock farming sector across Africa.
Responsibilities:
Identifying and Pursuing New Business Opportunities:
- Conducting market research to identify potential clients and sales prospects.
- Developing and implementing strategies to engage these prospects.
- Generating leads and tracking them through the sales cycle.
Relationship Management:
- Building and maintaining relationships with existing clients, fostering long-term collaborations.
- Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Negotiate and close business deals, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships.
Coordination and Support:
- Assisting the sales team with materials, presentations, and appointment scheduling.
- Coordinating with other departments (marketing, sales, etc.) to align strategies.
- Assisting in the development and execution of marketing campaigns.
Strategy and Reporting:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities and performance metrics.
Other Key Activities:
- Developing and presenting tailored business proposals.
- Organizing and managing events to promote the company.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in livestock farming.
- Researching market trends and competitor activities.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned to you.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or a related sales role.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving business objectives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms, Meet, etc.)
- A passion for the agriculture industry and a desire to make a positive impact.
