At Farming in Africa (FIA), we believe that sustainable transformation of Ghana’s agricultural sector requires more than individual effort — it demands strong partnerships between the private sector and government-led initiatives.

On 2nd June 2025, this belief was put into action as our team, led by CEO Fredrick Benneh Frimpong, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Director of Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness at the Office of the President.

Strengthening Public-Private Collaboration

The primary aim of this strategic engagement was to explore collaborative avenues through which the private livestock sector can effectively contribute to Ghana’s national agricultural transformation agenda.

During this insightful discussion, key opportunities for collaboration were identified within the framework of the Feed Ghana Programme, with a strong focus on enhancing livestock development across the country.

Key Themes from the Discussion

The conversation underscored several important themes:

  • Public-private partnerships are critical in achieving sustainable agricultural growth and economic transformation.

  • The livestock sector presents untapped potential for contributing to national food security, job creation, and rural economic development.

  • There is a strong need to align private sector innovations and grassroots insights with government-led programmes, ensuring that interventions reach farmers across all levels.

Collaboration fosters opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and scaling proven models across the country.

FIA’s Ongoing Commitment

At Farming in Africa, we are driven by a commitment to:

  • Share our expertise in livestock management and sustainable farming practices.

  • Leverage our innovation in farmer training and market access solutions.
