Farming in Africa is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the assistant to the Head of Operations. This role is integral to driving operational excellence across our logistics, agricultural feed processing, factory, and distribution value chains. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day oversight, team management, inventory coordination, budgeting, and process optimization across our production and supply network.

• Assist the Head of Operations in executing company-wide strategies and operational plans.
• Oversee logistics, supply chain coordination, and distribution networks.
• Supervise feed processing activities and factory operations to ensure efficiency and quality standards.
• Manage inventory systems, ensuring stock accuracy and optimal supply levels.
• Lead and manage cross-functional teams across operations and factory units.
• Design and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks for operational performance.
• Conduct field surveys and operational research to support data-driven decisions.
• Support budget planning, expense tracking, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance regulations.
• Act as the point of contact for operations when the Head of Operations is unavailable.

Experiencia:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in:
  • Logistics and distribution
  • Agricultural feed processing
  • Factory/facility management
  • Inventory control and supply chain oversight
  • People and team management
  • Monitoring & evaluation (M&E) practices
  • Research/survey planning and implementation
  • Budgeting and cost management

Educación:

• Higher National Diploma (HND) in Purchasing and Supply
• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

Competencies:

• Hands-on experience with ERP or inventory software systems
